In October 2009 Canon Japan introduced the Satera LBP-6300, a 30ppm (A4) monochrome printer designed for small to mid-sized businesses. Based on a new print engine, the LBP-6300 was designed to lower operating costs while increasing print performance. It was followed in February 2010 by the Laser Shot version in Asia, in March 2010 by the i-SENSYS model in Europe and in October 2010 by the imageRUNNER LBP-3470 in North America. Multifunction versions are also available, as well as numerous additional printer models using the same supplies set.

All sub-branded versions utilize the same all-in-one cartridge design, available in 2,100 low and 6,400 high yield versions, with different OEM SKUs depending on the geographic market. A new chip is required on remanufactured cartridges for correct printer operation.
